I LOVE lavender, the smell, the taste, the benefits. Its like a magic plant.
Adding lavender is a great way to spruce up a summer lemonade. This recipe uses honey as a natural sweetener instead of processed sugar!
This drink is so easy to make!
What you need:
- 5-6 Lemons (you will need 1 Cup of Lemon juice)
- 1/2 Cup of Honey
- 1 Tbsp Dried Culinary Lavender
- 4 Cups of Water
- Ice
- Pitcher or Large Mason Jar
Now lets make this lemonade:
- Juice 1 Cup of fresh lemons
- Heat 1/2 Cup of Honey with 2 Cups Water
- Once the honey has dissolved add 1 Tbsp of Dried Culinary Lavender. Bring this mixture to a boil and then remove from heat and let sit for 45 minutes.
- Strain mixture removing lavender, mix with lemon juice, and add 2 cups of cold water.
- Slice your remaining lemon (if you have enough) and add to your pitcher.
- Add Ice and serve!
If you want a bit more color, add one drop of pink food coloring (it comes out pinkish-purplish when mixed with the lemon). You can adjust the water ratio to your sweetness or tartness liking.
You can store this drink in a sealed mason jar for about a week and a half. It is so simple to make and a great refresher for these warm afternoons!
Drink up and enjoy friends!
